Henckels Twin Signature 19-Piece Knife Set with Block | | | | | | | Description: | | The handles on Twin Signature cutlery feature the traditional three rivets and visible full tang, and are stylishly curved not only to feel good but look more contemporary. And, for a spot of color, the red Zwilling logo is permanently embedded in one side. Like all premium knives from Zwillings J.A. Henckels, the upscale partner of Henckels International, the Twin Signature blades are Friodur ice-hardened, made from high-carbon, no-stain steel, and are laser-sharpened for a durable edge. Stamped rather than forged, the knives do not feature bolsters, which makes them lighter than most. This 19-piece set includes just about every knife a home chef could want, as well as a set of eight steak knives (non-serrated), 2.5-Inch peeler, 4-Inch parer, 4.5-Inch utility, 5-Inch serrated utility, 6-Inch utility, 8-Inch chef, 7-Inch Santoku hollow edge, 8-Inch bread knife, kitchen shears, 9-Inch sharpening steel, bamboo storage block and (8) steak knives. Made in Germany, the knives are covered by a lifetime warranty, and, while dishwasher-safe, Henckels recommends all fine knives should be washed and dried by hand immediately after use. --Ann Bieri | | | Features: | |

Finally, Knives that Can Cut with Easy EffortJan 14, 2011
By Nancy We had a collection of various knives that worked well for awhile. We had them sharpened by two different establishments but they became dull quickly. We finally decided to purchase a new, complete set. I had heard good things about Henckels' Knives and opted to purchase a medium-quality, Signature set. The higher the price on Henckels the higher the quality, but don't think that the lower priced ones are poor quality. We also own steak knives that cut wonderfully and I'm sure all sets are fantastic! I did quite a bit of research to find out what was what before purchasing. I have never had knives that cut as well as these. They are so sharp that it took us a little time to get use to keeping our fingers out of the way. The slightest pressure will slit your skin. (Not a knife for children!!!) Each knife cuts beautifully and it's easy to tell which knife should be used for which cutting task. The manufacturer suggests washing by hand, not in a dishwasher. We are following that and believe this will help keep the edge sharp as long as is possible. I can't say enough about the quality of these knives, and highly suggest getting Henckels no matter which quality you are looking to purchase.

I love these knives!Feb 01, 2010

I had never had "good" knives before. My old knives were constantly dull, no matter how much they were sharpened. When I got these knives I was so excited to try them out, I started cutting veggies. Obviously I wasn't used to their sharpness because I ended up cutting myself over and over for about a week before I got the hang of using them. I love them and definitely recommend them.... just be careful!

Absolutely amazing knves!Apr 30, 2011
By Rania These knives are incredible! My husband and I decided it was worth it to shell out the money for some good knives because it truly is a lifetime investment. They feel incredibly well made and are dangerously sharp - which we unfortunately found out from washing them on the first day! I've tried basic Cuisinart knives, and a fancy Japanese-made set but I'll never buy any other brand of knives again. These knives truly make it a joy to cook. I highly recommend them. They're still brand new and we haven't had any problems so far but it's worth noting that the warranty only covers defects in workmanship, not normal wear. Also, I don't know why everyone was complaining so much about the knife block. It looks attractive on the countertop and works fine. I guess one of the smaller knives ended up in a long slot but the rest are perfectly fine. Anyway, I care a lot more about the knives than the block, and these are a must have!

Great Knives!!Mar 21, 2011

These knives are by far the best I've used. The blade holds it's edge and it's easy to hone. I definitely recommend this set; however, I am disappointed with the block it came with...it is not custom to the knives and they sit in them loosely. As precise as the Germans are they missed a detail here.

So far, so goodJul 20, 2011
By Liz Braman We love these knives so far, we researched for awhile. The only complaint, there are 2 empty slots in the block. One for a meat clever, and the other? Guess we will be buying more knives to fill it :)
