Wusthof’s Grand Prix2 knives differ slightly from the original Grand Prix line in that they feature a redesigned handle with more ergonomic curve and a squared-off end. Contemporary in look, the pebble-grain synthetic handle is molded over an extended tang for a sure, comfortable grip. Because there is less steel in the tang, a Grand Prix2 knife offers slightly less heft than its Classic counterpart, yet more than the trim Le Cordon Bleu. All are beautifully balanced. Like all Grand Prix and Classic knives, the utility knife is precision forged from a single piece of high-carbon, stain-resistant steel. The blade has been impeccably ground, tapered, and polished, and its edge laser-tested for uniformity. After repeated use, the edge may be easily resharpened using a sharpening steel. Though the knife is dishwasher-safe, Wusthof recommends hand-washing all fine cutlery. Made in Germany, the knife is fully guaranteed to be free of defects in materials and/or craftsmanship. --Ann Bieri | | | Features: | |

EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH ITFeb 29, 2012

"LOVE 2 LEARN"
My son is a chef. When he cooks at my house, he brings his own knives because he doesn't like mine. He recommended that I upgrade a few of my knives to WUSTHOF Grand Prix. I'm so glad I did. Cutting and chopping is a breeze with these knives. They are very sharp.

Worth the price? You decide.Jan 20, 2012
By Avery St. Clair This is a near-perfect knife. The handle design is especially nice, and the blade is long enough to be meaningful. Is it worth the FORTUNE you have to pay? Probably not. A $7 grocery-store utility knife will do the job but not as elegantly. Will you use it every day? Then the additional quality and beauty of this knife may represent good value.
Excellent KnifeMar 17, 2011

This is a larger version of the paring knife. It is very sharp and very useful for slicing, chopping, dicing and peeling fruits and vegetables that are a little too large for the 3 1/2 inch parer. It does a terrific job and is reflective of the legendary Wusthof quality. Highly recommended.
