| | | Wusthof Knives | Home » » » Wusthof Gourmet 7-Piece Steak-Knife Set with Oak Block | | | | | | | Description: | | From sirloin steaks to lamb shanks to turkey cutlets, this set of six steak knives delicately cuts whatever you're serving into bite-size pieces. Plus, the included six-slot oak block keeps the set within reach on the countertop. Part of Wüsthof's Gourmet series of knives, these steak knives are a less expensive version of the manufacturer's Classic series of cutlery. Although the blades are still made of high-carbon steel with a stain-resistant alloy, the difference is that they are made of a thinner quality metal and are cut by a precision laser instead of by hand. The blades still have an ideal shape as they are ground and polished by computer to ensure perfect tapering from tip to bolster. Full tangs extend through the synthetic traditional-style handles, which are triple-riveted for strength. These knives are dishwasher-safe but hand washing is recommended to preserve the edges on the blades. The Gourmet series is an excellent alternative for those who want to own quality Wüsthof cutlery but are on a budget. --Cristina Vaamonde | | | Features: | |

Wurstoff KnifesNov 16, 2002
We use and love the knives. Easy to handle, weighted just right. Shape for precise cutting. Continue their degree of sharpness use after use. Thats why we are looking to buy more.

Save your moneyJun 06, 2003
If your going to buy knives for this price buy the best knives of a cheaper company instead of these inferior quality "Steak" knives. Although well balanced and nice looking the blade is extreemely flimsy and cuts steaks very poorly. Following the purchase of these knives I recieved som Chicago Cutlery steak knives as a gift and since then the only times these have left the drawer is when I have had more guests than good knives.

Great quality, affordable Wusthof.Jan 15, 2003
Though these are the low end of the Wusthof line (and the cheapest), they are excellent quality. The blades are a little thinner than the higher-end lines, but this makes no difference to me as far as cutting quality. I eat a lot of meat and have been very happy with these knives. Wusthof makes a great knife!

Good Value Steak KnivesDec 17, 2004
By D. Huddleston Treat these knives as you would your best Wustoff and you'll be rewarded. If you store these in a wooden block or case, ocassionally run the blades against the sharpening steel and hand wash and immediately dry the blades, they'll stay sharp and last for years.
If you want your cutlery to last and perform, NEVER, EVER put your knives in the dishwasher. Regardless of the price, top notch knives are not designed to be washed in a dishwasher, period. Don't be a lazy bum!

By debi love these knives & the little block is perfect for my little kitchen - one of the nicer looking blocks at this price point...
