Beautiful ChinaDec 17, 2009
By Tony Ramsey This China was the pattern we chose for our wedding registry and we couldn't be happier with it. It is gorgeous. The other person who rated this a one obviously was just a cheapskate, and not rating the actual product. It is dishwasher safe, goes well with any season or event, and is easy to match non-pattern serving pieces with. It is not just any boring China with a nice rim, so if that is what you want, look elsewhere. We get compliments on our china everytime we have folks over and we have folks over more because we like to use our china.

not dishwasher safeNov 12, 2011
By Janet I purchased a full set of these Wedgwood Oberon dishes from a different vendor because they said they are dishwasher safe. They are not. After just a few months of using them, the gold trim is chipped around the edges. A huge disappointment.

very versitalJun 05, 2011
By C. Lemmon I worked for three years for Waterford Wedgwood, and fell in love with their China. Both Waterford and Wedgwood had beautiful designs, but I preferred Wedgwood. We carried other brands too, and I learned the difference between Wedgwood and those other brands... mainly that each piece is hand decorated, so no two pieces are really 100% alike. The decorations are either painted or hand set before firing. It makes imperfections more special because you know you do not have a mass produced piece! But I do admit that most people inspected each piece before purchasing so that they were as close to "perfect" as possible. (Me included). I considered the items from their Sister Companies (Royal Daulton) but I felt that Wedgwood was far beyond the other companies in strength of the pieces. We would stand on them to show people how strong they are! They are NOT unbreakable, but they do resist breakage and they are made so that breaks should be (for the most part) less likely to slice off your finger - and I can tell you after breaking Johnson pieces, and cutting myself badly, this is a benefit!!
I highly recommend Wedgwood, and if you like "perfection" be sure to inspect each piece in person before you purchase. I have inpected and handled literally thousands of pieces of their china.. 5% were in a category that we called flawed or just could not sell. Remember, when humans are the ones to set and paint the pieces, (not machines) you do get those differences in the pieces... and that is part of what makes Wedgwood so special!

Very Poor QualityJan 05, 2011
By 10cc My wife and I selected this china as our wedding pattern. We started receiving place settings in August, 2010. The quality is abysmal. I posted our experience to the website oberonquality.com When we exchange the defective pieces, many of the replacements are also defective! The U.K. website of this pattern now says the pattern has been phased out and is no longer for sale. The same may be about to happen in the U.S. Apparently, the company no longer has the ability to produce this pattern, as you will see on oberonquality.com. (Add the www). The Oberon pattern is indeed beautiful, and if you want it, I suggest you buy it used.
Beautiful pattern! Love it!Feb 21, 2011

This is my first set of china and searched a long time before I decided on this pattern. It's elegant and understated, but has enough design to keep it visually interesting. Will be using it a lot, not just for "special occasions."
