We loved this corkscrew--it opens wine bottles pretty effortlessly--until it broke about TWO MONTHS after purchasing. The shaft split vertically in two. This is a very flimsily made product.

I read the negative reviews and went ahead and purchased this anyway, relying on a web site wine magazine review. I now think those reviews are a total fraud, just like most specialty web sites and magazines, reviews are generally glowing because the web site or magazine wants the product maker to then advertise the reviewed product in the same magazine. What a fraud. This device was nothing like what the web site described. It is very flimsy, made of cheap-feeling plastic (it weighs nothing at all) and is cumbersome to use. Look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I have had problems with this design. When removing the cork, it can be hard to get the screw "centered" on the cork, which can make it go in cockeyed. The cork comes out okay but it will not disengage from the screw. Luckily I bought it at a store that guarantees satisfaction for life. Just wish it had lasted more than two years!

I've owned this corkscrew for 5 years now and I refuse to purchase another model. I have never had a problem with mine like some of the other reviews state. It is really light weight which gives it a "cheap" feel but it works really well and is good for travel (I use mine at home as well). I would definitely recommend this product to anyone!

Opening wine bottles is a breeze with this opener. Had a previous one that broke, but the ease of use makes it worth buying another.
