 Buyer Beware - Now Made in China!Sep 16, 2008

Although the Reed & Barton Country French pattern is lovely, it is now MADE in CHINA! I purchased a 5-piece place setting to add to my existing set. Much to my disappointment, it is now made in China. Not only am I concerned about using this flatware for food since the metal it is made of is questionable, but there is also a definite change for the worse in quality. For example, the "made in China" dinner fork weighs 1.4 oz vs 1.9 oz for the original dinner fork. That 0.5 oz makes a big difference in heft and feel. Very disappointing.

I was disappointed to open the package and find that the Reed and Barton Country French place setting was made in China! I returned it for a refund. It is a beautiful pattern--wish I had bought more years ago when products were made in America.

I was very disappointed to find out that this place setting was not exactly the same as my original setting...the product said made in china, and lead content was less than my setting. Even though the setting name and brand name is the same the quality is NOT! My original setting was made in japan.

My daughter picked up three sets of this pattern at a Dillard's store closing closeout, and brought it for me. She said she didn't like my mishmash of silverware. I have three sets of silverware and some Walmart teaspoon mixed together. I love my Reed and Barton Country French Stainless steel place setting. I love the pattern and the weight. Very pretty. I've been slowly collecting more place settings. I think I have six place settings now. I am so glad she got these for me. The place setting I ordered from Amazon was processed promptly and arrive when promised and in excellent condition. You can't beat Amazon for price and service. I'm very happy with both. Amazon's price was lower than the store close out at Dillard's.

This was purchased as a wedding gift. The convenience of shipping directly to the bride and groom is great. Buying from Amazon was a much better deal than from the department store where they registered.
