We've owned this for one year. After 18 years, we decided to replace our Oneida stainless. We shopped countless hours trying to find something as much as we loved our old stainless. We did - when we found the ALLORA line from Reed & Barton. It is so beautiful! It feels great in your hand. It's solid and heavy. The fork tines are not going to bend on you. This is pure quality. It was hard to find at first, but now we are finding it easier to come by. Some stores even carry open stock on some items. You won't be disappointed in this set.

I have the Allora set of flatware, and wanted to complement it with this hostess set. I received the first set from Amazon with two pieces (the large serving spoon and the slotted serving spoon) in defective condition. Specifically, on the back of each spoon, there was a large hole where the handle was supposed to be joined to the spoon. The edges of the metal were sharp where they had not been joined and could easily cut someone, say when handwashing/rinsing or loading into/unloading them from the dishwasher. Also, the hole was large enough to allow water and food to enter into the hollow handle of the spoons. YUCK! I returned this first hostess set and ordered a replacement set from Amazon, but the replacement set had the exact same problem! Both large spoons had holes with sharp edges where the handles had not been properly joined to the spoon part. I'm disappointed both in the lack of quality control at Reed & Barton AND at Amazon, but particularly at Amazon because they've now inconvenienced me twice by sending me defective merchandise.
