3not as listedAug 17, 2009

The product works as expected but not as advertised. Amazon has it listed with "wireless" speakers. The only thing that is truly wireless is the fact that it takes wires but none are supplied. I think Amazon should be more careful when listing items in categories that they don't belong in.

2Not very goodFeb 26, 2010

My expectations were low as these are only $30 speakers and I was not looking for audiophile sound. I only use them to listen to podcasts and music in a small kitchen but even in this limited application I am disappointed.

5Outstanding performance and qualityDec 14, 2010

These speakers are built to last. Very sturdy frame. The front grille is a hard plastic and not a soft mesh fabric. The back of the speakers have a kind of pull out hook that is recessed into the back of the speaker. You can use this hook to mount the speakers on the wall if you have a hook type hanger. A nail or screw won't work. I hung them with a hercules hook, you know the kind you see on TV advertised and are now sold in stores everywhere. Here is a link: Hercules Hook Wall Hooks 20-pk.

The speaker wire connectors are the push down door type, not the screw type.

I use these speakers as the rear surround in my 7.1 channel surround system hooked up to an Onkyo HT-RC260 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Onkyo HT-RC260 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black)) using 16 gauge RCA speaker wire I ordered off of Amazon: RCA AH1650SN 16-Gauge Speaker Wire (50 Feet)

They sound amazing and I have absolutely no complaints whatsover.

To test the speakers and kind of "break them in" I hooked them up to an older Kenwood receiver I have as the front speakers in a simple 2 channel stereo setup with no subwoofer and they really did sound great. Obviously not as good as $200-$500 dollar speakers but way above what I was reasonably expecting for the price I paid for them.

I was so impressed that I recommended them to a friend and he ordered them as secondary "B" speakers for his receiver that has an A/B Speaker setup and they sound fantastic in his 12X15 den where he plays them.

No regrets at all and I highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for great sound on a budget.

4Fine speaker for the priceDec 15, 2009

What can I say, these are not $300 speakers and do not sound like $300 speakers but they do sound fine and are perfect for my application (surround spearkers). So I give them 4 stars for being a decent sounding speaker for low dollars.
