Love this deviceJun 07, 2007
By NJGUARDIAN I'm been using this cooler for about three years in the office to chill soda (not a coffee drinker). It will take a can of soda from room temperature to really cold in about an hour. If you leave the can in it overnight by mistake, it will even turn the soda to a frozen slush! I often put a can in in the morning just in case I want a cold soda late. If I don't drink it, I just turn the unit off later. Once cold, you can turn the unit off and the can will still stay cold for a couple of hours. This really saves money -- keep a few soda in your desk and don't pay $$ at the vending machine.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it's possible to inadvenently put the unit in heat mode instead of cool (not a problem for you coffee drinkers). A couple of times I caught myself doing this accidently and luckly I corrected it immediately. I had to think what would have happened if I heated a sealed can of soda as this can get pretty warm. Maybe a good idea to "pop" the lid on a can when you put it in to avoid any danger. But overall a great little product that you can use at home, in the car or in the office.

DC adapter only!Apr 28, 2009

THIS ITEM DOES NOT INCLUDE AN AC ADAPTER! It only has a DC adapter (cigarette-type). I wanted this item to keep my drink cold at my desk. But you can't do this with a DC plug. I don't know how people are using it at their desks. Anyway, don't buy this if you're not planning to use this in your vehicle.

Works fine for Keping cans cold.Nov 27, 2007
By J. Siepmann Works great for over a year now. Brings temp down to refridgerator temps and best if can already cold, then it works fine at keeping it cold. I put mine in the freezer for 1/2 hour then use this to keep it cold. Only product like it that I have found.

great itemFeb 08, 2007
By M. Fink This item works better than i expected keeps cold things cold and hot things hot. It is also very quiet and has a red light when you have it on warm and a green light when you have it on cool I found this very helpful so you can tell at a glance if you have it set right. I would highly reccomend this item

Works as describedMay 28, 2007
By George H. Trudeau I am happy with my purchase, it definitely performs as promised. It performs about like a refrigerator, that is a cold can will stay cold, but if you start with a warm one, it will take at least an hour to cool it down. Also the specifications say it can cool to 68 F below ambient temperature. This is a conversion error. The correct figure is 32 degrees (they started with 20 C.
