Description:

The Polk Audio RM6751 satellite speaker accommodates listeners who want to add channels to their existing 5.1-channel surround sound speaker system. The satellite helps fill out the rear effects, creating a true top of the line home theater compatible with the latest surround encoding formats. Each RM6751 speaker is equipped with a 3.25" polymer composite cone midrange driver that's lightweight and efficient, along with a high performance 0.5" silk dome tweeter. Combined, the drivers create a clear, distortion-free midrange and smooth highs. The speaker also employs the same PowerPort bass vent technology used in Polk Audio's line of full-sized speakers, thus improving the lower midrange response. The result is a midrange with no hole between the satellite and the sub frequencies, helping male vocals sound rich and full. Meanwhile, the satellite's integrated baffle and grille design allows for maximum sound dispersion and minimum diffraction, letting everyone in the room hear the same clear, well-balanced audio. The speaker is housed within a mineral-filled, non-resonant polypropylene enclosure that not only sounds natural, but also looks great. To top it off, the speaker includes an integrated keyhole slot-mounting bracket for effortless wall mounting. And because the speaker is magnetically shielded, you can locate the speaker near the TV without suffering from video interference.

Single satellite speaker for the RM series 6.1 or 7.1 channel speaker system

Equipped with a single 3.5-inch polymer composite midrange driver

Frequency response: 40Hz - 24kHz

5Great satellites for 5.1 or 7.1 systems for the priceJan 07, 2009
By Quan Lam "Q"
I have a all Polk system and needed a pair of satellites for rear surround use and these were a great match.

Speakers have plenty of volume when (I have a Harman Kardon receiver) and the midrange is good. I would get these over the RM 101 or the RM 7 because it has a 3.5" driver vs. 2.5" on the newer models. The bigger driver provides a more flexible frequency response of 40-22000 hz vs 95-22000 hz. You'll get better midrange sound which is what surrounds do most of the time. There's also a silk .5" tweeter which is pretty smooth, no harsh brightness here.

Provided you have a decent sub to take care of the low end, these should will be great surround speakers. Especially for the price.

Pros
- Good sound in small package
- Good heft to a small speaker
- Wide frequency response
- Smooth highs
- Good mid range
- Inexpensive

Cons
- Not the most attractive
- Spring wire clips are kinda cheap
- Speakers are more charcoal in color

4Great speakers, but what bracket?Sep 13, 2009
By David Sparks "Dave"
Review update - I moved the two new Polk speakers to be my front speakers and after hearing how they sound there I have since bought another pair to replace my older Sony side surround speakers. These sound great and I am real happy with them. Great sound at a reasonable price.

I added these as rear surround speakers for my 7.1 system and they sound great. My only quibble is with the "Integrated keyhole slot wall mounting brackets". These are simply an extension to the speaker back that has a hole in it for hanging from a nail or screw (like a cheap wall clock). They do have the standard threaded hole for use with regular satellite speaker wall brackets (which I purchased separately). They're still a great deal but I really wouldn't plan on mounting these with the "integrated bracket".

5Forget going to the moviesDec 06, 2008

Bought these speakers in a 7.1 setup for my home theater and they just blew me away. No more going to the movies. These babies will not let you down.....

5Great for the rear surroundsDec 06, 2009
By Linker S. Mills
Got these for the extra two needed to make a full 7.1 surround for the RM6750 Polk system. Very satisfied with the speakers, and of course match perfectly the satellites that come with the RM6750 system.

Running a Yamaha RX-V765 with 95W through these using 16 gauge wire. Wonderful range and clarity. Mine did not come with any mounts, but have great molded hooks that you can use a deeper wood screw to hang if you will not need to aim them in a different direction from the wall face.

3They sound good, but ...Feb 28, 2011
By Rykko
I use these as rear speakers, accompanying a set of higher priced and better quality Polk fronts and center. They don't sound bad at all. For most music they will do the job, but when I turn a little up the volume, specially with music that includes a good deal of activity from the rears and with some instruments, particularly with some electronic sounds that are highly "vibrational" they begin to produce a loud "screech" that ruins what you're hearing. Maybe they'll do a better job with home theater effects than with music. I repeat: This happens just with a few records I own, not with all of them. I guess such a tiny enclosure is not the best for listening to music at levels of 25 watts or more, per channel.
