EXCELLENT workmanship and qualitySep 25, 2007
By BAM I purchased both the Revere youth set and the Chateau youth set for my grandchildren. The Revere set has a matte finish, while the Chateau has a polished finish.
BOTH sets are VERY nice. However, my preference goes to the Revere set.
The bowl of the spoon on the Revere set is deeper than the bowl of the spoon in the Chateau set. Amazon also sells both teaspoons and place spoons individually if you want to add a larger spoon to this set--another plus for the Revere set.
The knife handle on the Revere set seems to be a better shape for small hands to grasp securely.
I prefer the shiney finish of the Chateau set and thought it to be a more feminine pattern for my granddaughters. (I really wanted to like the Chateau set best.) However, the Revere set looks like it will function better for its intended use in training small hands to use utensils--so I will be going with the Revere pattern for all of my grandchildren.

perfect for little handsNov 07, 2006
By Rachel Sissel I have 3 children, the oldest 3 1/2. I didn't discover this tableware till after my second was feeding himself. I wish I had found this for when my first was first learning. I have tons of gerber toddler forks and spoons. They work pretty well for the most part, but once they are able to get the fork/spoon in their mouth successfully on their own, the shallow spoon looses most of its food on the way to the mouth. I bought some of the character spoon/fork sets thinking they would be more fun to eat with. I discovered the spoon is actually LARGER than my own teaspoons that I eat with. Now tell me, how is my 2 year old supposed to eat with that. It's like me trying to eat with a serving spoon. My 2 oldest fight over our Oneida child size silverware, and my 2 year old has much more success and much less mess using them than any other forks or spoons. I only have 1 set right now, but plan on buying each of my children 2 sets for Christmas, so I will have 7 sets for my children to use. I will be getting rid of all my gerber ware.

Perfect For ChildrenNov 13, 2006
By Angst 2 Amity I didn't discover these until my oldest of three was eight. They are beautiful smaller silverware pieces. We have been using plastic or melanmine for safety - but these are more practical. They don't break, wear out, and can be used to actually stab lettuce. They are also great for practicing table manners and proper knife use. I am thinking about buying the regular set to match the children's set! I am about to buy more now and buy some of the baby sets because we can never have enough spoons. Great buy! And I know that maybe they will go into the children's memory boxes because they are so nice looking too!

Toddler Oneida SilverwareJul 04, 2007

I love this silverware. I wish it was available in stores. The fork is perfect because it's just sharp enough so my son (2-1/2 yrs old) can feed himself. He's still too young to use the knife but it's ready when he is. The spoon is a bit small but still nice. I've had it for almost 3 months and they still look new. Washes well in the dishwasher. Would definitely buy for others as a gift.

Great, but a little priceyMay 18, 2010
By Umm Hamza I bought these because I wanted all-stainless steel flatware for my daughter instead of the ones with plastic handles (which crack, etc). My daughter has been using this set since she was 1.5 years old or so. She was using the baby spoon and fork before that for a short time. After she turned 2 I started letting her try the knife but not regularly as I usually don't serve food that requires cutting. The knife is mainly for spreading butter/jam and cutting pancakes. Though the set is good quality, I recently saw teaspoons and dessert forks that closely match the size of the ones in this set and got packs of 4 each for less than $3 a pack! I guess you can't find the knife anywhere, but my daughter likes use the adult sized knives as well, and also has stainless steel toy knives from IKEA that work fine. So in retrospect, this set wasn't really that necessary after all... I won't be buying more for future children. IKEA also has a set that is less expensive than these (though I haven't tried it yet). Also, my daughter has one WMF curved spoon that she really loves, but the WMF sets are way too expensive. I think the size of the WMF flatware might be more suitable for growing hands and mouths though. The WMF spoon size is a bit wider/larger than a teaspoon and the shape holds food better than the Paul Revere design.
