Great Flatware...better price can be found elsewhereMay 09, 2008
By Seattle Gal When selecting items for my bridal registry I decided that I'd like a set of casual flatware to go with my Fiestaware dinnerware. I was all set to register for this when I saw that my local member warehouse's online site was selling an 8 place setting set for the SAME price as this 4 place setting set. I suggest looking online for a better deal before purchasing here. I found the warehouse deal by googling "Oneida Forte".
Back to the product itself...The slightly squared shape of Oneida's Forte pattern compliments Fiestaware beautifully. The pieces have a nice heft and feel substantial in the hand. Also, the mirror finish adds a nice shine to the tabletop and is a nice change from the satin finished flatware I've had in the past.
As far as the complaints of the balance issue go...I've yet to have any of the pieces leap of my plate. I don't know, maybe it's because I don't walk around with my silverware halfway hanging off my plate, but this has yet to be a problem for me. Yes, there is more weight towards the handle, but it actually makes it nice to hold and eat with.
Unbalanced unfortunatelyJan 14, 2008
By JennO I picked this for our wedding. Unfortunately they are not well-balanced and fall off the plate often. The tine end of the fork is not heavy enough. I like these a lot, but I wouldn't buy another set.
