They're a little different.Dec 15, 2011
By Rachel We received this pattern when we got married and really like it but we needed to expand our service. While this is the same pattern, they are a little different from what we had before. I was under the impression that the pattern would always stay the same but maybe I am wrong on that (we have had our originals for about 10 years). I still like them but I can tell instantly when I pick one up if it's one of our new pieces or not. It's slightly squared off on the underside now and there is an O stamp on the bottom near the handle that we didn't previously have. All in all I still really like this pattern. It's great for every day but nice enough that it looks good with the china.
Love Oneida CapelloAug 14, 2006
By Rachel M. Mccleary We got a service for 12 of Capello at our wedding 7 years ago, and I love it. We use it as our everyday flatware because we like it so much; we figure, why let it sit in a drawer for company when we could be enjoying it ourselves? All of the utensils have a nice weight to them. The knife feels good in the hand, since the end is curved to fit into the palm while cutting. The spoons have a nice, elegant, deep scoop to them - I can't stand shallow bowls in spoons! We have in general been very happy with these sppons - no complanints.
I love my Oneida Capello!Apr 05, 2004

I had a hard time deciding on what flatware to buy. I tend to like a simple look, yet something that is graceful and elegant as well. I also wanted something that was reasonably priced!I first found Oneida's Capello pattern by visiting an Oneida outlet store. That was it, just the right pattern for me! I bought one place setting, so I could think on it. Well, I took that place setting and put it with casual stoneware dinnerware... looks great. I then took it and put it with a friend's very expensive and rare china... it looked great yet again! I really like that it can go both ways, from casual to a formal feel, that makes it versatile! I truly love the heavy feel of this pattern, it's sturdy and you aren't going to worry about bending a spoon digging ice cream out of the container. The salad forks LOOK like salad forks and the soup spoons are generous. The soup spoons are also a very nice size for using as serving spoons for condiments like salsa. The shiny finish is also lovely, but this will end up getting scratched. I've been treating my flatware very well, handwashing and drying, but I can see the wear after only six months. So that's a bit of a minus. The other thing that is sometimes a minus... they are a bit slick and slippery to hold while dishwashing. You want to be careful or you'll drop them a lot in the sink. However, all in all, I'm very pleased! I bought mine at half price on eBay... and at that price, got some to keep for *company*. At any rate, I don't think anyone would not enjoy this pattern! My new husband was dubious about the knives, but then agreed that they feel great in the hand!
Great flatware!Jul 06, 2003
I have owned this pattern for a number of years and it seems to go well with everything. It's pretty and feels good in your hand. Not too heavy, not too light. I really like the nice curve on the handle. Functional and attractive flatware!
