Beautiful ChinaMar 03, 2006
By Frank Yee My wife wanted two sets to match our new family room decor. Well, they turned out to be so beautiful that we have replaced our good formal china with this set. Really gorgeous pattern and color. The red has a slight orange cast and is not a perfect match for a more maroon red.
The sets arrived in perfect condition although the two outside box were very beat up. Excellent packaging. A fabulous deal.

Quality control and packing skills are lacking.Oct 28, 2005
By R. Plante Recently I ordered the Mikasa Parchment Red Fine China 42-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service For Eight. Fortunately, I received the china, but unfortunately, the serving pieces were missing and one plate was defective. Following the guidelines, I packed up the china and Amazon sent a second set. All should have been fine, but no, it gets worse. The serving pieces were again left out of the order and now I have two thoroughly broken tea cups. I guess Amazon will once again want the china sent back, but how can I be sure I'll get 42 rather than 40 pieces in return?
Oh, the china is beautiful, but is it beautiful enough to overcome this aggravation? Not sure yet.

Product Set Misrepresented & Horrible Customer ServiceJan 08, 2006
By Active Shopper I had the same experience as two of the other reviewers. I ordered what was represented as a 42 piece set that included the serving platter and serving bowl. What arrived was the 40 piece set. When I requested the additional pieces (via email of course since you can't find the customer service number to talk to a person), I was told that a set could not be broken to ship the two missing serving pieces and that a 42 piece replacement set would be sent to me. I received another 40 piece set with 5 broken dishes-it was simply thrown into a box and shipped and when I arranged for pick up at my home, no one ever showed up!! I drove the repackaged 40 piece set to the UPS store to ship and weeks later I received an email response from Amazon telling me that the problem I was experiencing was "more widespread than they anticipated." No offer was ever made to credit my account for the missing pieces, nor was any other remedy proposed. This is the worst customer service I have experienced and will think twice about purchasing from Amazon in the future, although I have been a loyal and consistent customer for years. I'm STILL waiting for a satisfactory resolution to this issue (and I have kept the original set of dishes that were sent to me-without the serving pieces).

I received product earlier than expected. Beautiful but one missing salad plate. I contacted Amazon by email twice but did not get a response. I could not locate a telephone number to report problem with order. Very frustrating not able to resolve problem. I am still waiting on a response.

"yeah yeah"
This item was more than I expected. I received all the pieces that was advertised. The color of the plates were not a red that i expected, but more of a burnt orange color.
