Gorgeous, durable, and versatileJul 19, 2009

NEW REVIEW:
Over the past couple of years have noticed an improvement in the quality so I am revising my review since that was my only issue. Now I'd just like to comment on my experiences using the set:
I've used the Cocoa Blossom set daily for the past couple of years and it has proven itself incredibly durable. The set still looks new despite the fact that I have not been shy about using it as the everyday set I can microwave and run through the dishwasher to my heart's content.
The other thing I love about the Cocoa Blossom design is that it is incredibly elegant at the same time that it is versatile. The Cocoa Blossom is beautiful on its own, but it is also easily paired with pale blue dinnerware (or really any other color dinnerware)to create an entirely new look. It can be dressed up with formal glassware and table linens, but it can also be playful and create a beautiful complement to bright colors. I'm looking forward to creating new combinations and new settings as the years go on.

OLD REVIEW "Poor Quality Control":
This set is beautiful, and I love that it is dishwasher and microwave safe. Unfortunately, a majority of the pieces purchased for us had uneven banding and obvious irregularities. I either have to return the entire set of china (to various places), or I have to be able to inspect each piece before I exchange it, given that the banding and splotch irregularities are frequent and consistent across different pieces and different vendors (including Amazon and Macy's). This would have been such a beautiful and versatile set. I was looking forward to adding onto this set over time and I am not only very disappointed, I feel extremely inconvenienced. The dinner plates were all fine; the problem was especially prevalent in add-on pieces such as the soup and cereal bowls, accent plates, and rice bowls. I am not sure what the problem is but at the very least, please inspect each piece before you buy it.

I received 10 sets of these for my wedding. I love them. Great pieces for special dinners. I love that it is dishwasher safe.
