Good but one BIG problemApr 18, 2008
By old man jon I loved this thing but it broke in two weeks. The glass container that holds the coffee just broke while i was washing it. it is very thin and can be easily cracked or broken. While i had it though it made good coffee.

Not impressed.May 01, 2009

I was looking for a small coffeemaker that I could store under the counter. I wanted something small, easy to use, and easy to clean. I bought this percolator at K-mart for around ten dollars. I am now shopping for a new percolator because:
- Glass is very thin, people get freaked out when I tell them I put it on the stove. It makes creaky sounds sometimes and I'm scared it's going to burst on the stove one of these days. - The holes in the basket are large, so you have to use very coarse ground coffee. We buy our coffee pre-ground, and it is always too fine. It gets into the coffee, which bugs me a little. - It's easy to clean, but otherwise awkward to use. Pulling the basket out is treacherous, and all the interior parts are plastic. I have burned myself pulling the basket out. - The inside parts are all plastic, and I'm uncomfortable putting plastics on the stove-top. I would prefer an all-glass solution, such as the Chemex carafe.
So, if none of those things bother you, this is an affordable coffee-maker that works.

Great!May 06, 2009
By Pat Veretto I used to have a glass percolator when percolators were the only way to make coffee. This is made just the way the old ones were and I love it. If you've only used a drip coffee maker, this will take a little getting used to, but it makes excellent coffee.

The best nearly 100% USA made stovetop percolator.Nov 07, 2009
By Savnok This comes with a ring for electric stoves also.
The plastics are very high quality and the glass is the best lab quality glass. The glass is made in Germany but the rest and assembly is in the United States.
I was happy to have had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the company and she gave me some history on the compnay and how her products are made. She would like to have had these mad here in the USA entirely but the quality of lab glass is not available here right now. She was very nice ..heard her dogs in the background.
My wife loves this thing. We got it just in case the electricity goes out for our home here in Maine ..we'd have coffee still. We also bought the tea kettle and it is excellent also.
This thing is simple and easy to use.
One thing I would like to see some mention on how safe the pastics are when heated, are they tested to be non toxic? I'd presume so.
Thank you Medelco.

Remember to...Feb 14, 2009
By Kitty Cat I had the percolator when I was in college. It worked great. Remember to remove the percolator from the stovetop. I left it on the stovetop a few times on the low setting thinking that the coffee would keep warm that way. It did, BUT unknown to me was that the longer it's kept on the stovetop, the stronger the coffee got. Lets just say I had no problems staying awake for classes those days and no sleep those nights.
