Lovely , and relatively practical / versatile.Aug 07, 2009

We've just purchase two 4-piece settings of Lenox Chirp as a wedding gift for an older couple. The birds make a nice reference to a couple settling down together. It is lovely and we wish we could afford more settings. We like this pattern because the individual plates and bowls can be used as accent serving pieces to dress up a plain everyday table setting and the mug is a practical shape and size. The pattern is just beautiful and the colors are very rich. The plates feel very solid when held, not as if they may break if handled roughly. There are many additional pieces, giving us more opportunity over the years to give individual serving or ornamental pieces as additional gifts. It's been a very popular pattern for Lenox, so we hope it won't be discontinued quickly. We did find that the linens that are available to go with the setting are of a fussy material, a little shiny and slick.

I purchased four Lenox Simply Fine Chirp 4-piece place settings and am enjoying them a lot! These are not fine china, but lovely everyday use dinnerware. The colors are lovely. What looks red in the picture is actually a coral color which matches the coral in my home perfectly. Amazon's price was the lowest, but not low enough for me to purchase eight or twelve place settings plus the serving pieces I would like to complete the set. I will probably purchase these items when the price comes down. Right now, Chirp is a hot item which keeps the price higher than it may really be worth.

My daughter in law picked this out for her wedding china. I think it is a super selection since it goes from dishwasher to oven to freezer. So practical. I purchased two for the shower and two more as a Christmas gift. Both arrived promptly and in perfect condition. Thank you Amazon.

When we bought our recent and expected to be final home I wanted new, practical light weight dishes I would look forward to using. As a disabled tweenior, heavy dishes are out and while I respect Corelle and have owned a couple of sets they feel a little to lightweight and the colors seem so pale. When I saw Chirp displayed in a local home store I was immediately drawn to the simplistic design, use of color, cheeriness and practicality. I had set aside some mad money for this purchase and thanks to the great buy 3 get 1 free Amazon sale I was able to acquire 4 settings. They also had a special on more dinner plates and an affiliate had a great buy on extra salad and desert. The desert plate is really a saucer but if you're a daytime half sandwich type you'll appreciate these at lunch. The serving pieces are pricey. While Fiesta is heavy their turquoise and red colors are a match. I supplemented with veggie dishes and a serving bowl and platter for our usual meals. I can ask family and friends for additional pieces for gifts over time. These lovely magical dishes inspire me to make a little meal when my disability would rather order a pizza! They are truly freezer, oven, table and clean up beautifully in the dishwasher. Extra nice is how well they fit. I suspect these will age gracefully and my children will be glad to have them or a grandchild for a starter set someday when I'm ready for the last move!

I bought these dishes to replace the mixed pieces of white stoneware we've used for years as our every day china and I just love them! They are beautiful, with rich colors and wonderful artwork. I think the pattern will work for many decorating styles, from contemporary to traditional. We can use these dishes every day without being concerned that they are too delicate, and they are definitely nice enough when we have company for dinner as well. They fit easily into the dishwasher, which some dinnerware does not. I like the sizes of all the pieces. The bowls are large enough for my breakfast cereal or my husband's nightly ice cream snack. The mugs have a comfortable handle, better than some of the smaller china cups we've used. I am more than pleased with my choice of this dinnerware that is so pretty and yet so practical.
I checked a department store's price for the four piece place setting. On 11/22/2010 it was on sale for $99 from a regular price of $149 (plus tax which in my area is 9.9%). That compares to $66 per place setting at Amazon, no tax/free ship. ($88/place setting and 4 for 3 special.)
