Cool answer for hot produceSep 06, 2009
By KBL I purchased the Le Creuset rectangular silicone "Cool Tool" to use with my 3.5 qt. oval Le Creuset pot. It fits perfectly under the oval size pot. I have a several coolers, a red round one for my round red 5 qt. pot, etc.). It makes it easy for the kids to pick the right size cooler for the pot. I also sometimes use the round size coolers as pot holders. The rectangular one can also be used under a 5 qt. oval pot, but the ends of the pan will not be resting on the cooler. You will need to use two coolers side by side for really large oval size pots.

Another place to use this that nobody's mentionedJul 03, 2011
By JerseyTomato I bought this to try as a hot pad, but I've ended up keeping it in our fridge, which has glass shelves. This thing has three characteristics which make it very useful in there. First, it clings to the glass a bit, which keeps it from shifting around. Second, it's heat-proof so it gives me a safe place to put containers of still-hot food. Third, the ridges keep any moisture from spreading and making a mess, if you've brought something down from the freezer to defrost. It works out a lot better than the cloth potholders, paper towels, or dinner plates I used to use for these purposes. I'm thinking of getting another one.

"whoa-whoa"
I use them as hotplates on table and countertop (Corian). Lightweight, easy to clean and easy to store.

Very functionalMay 12, 2011
By Mel M. Excellent product for the following reasons:
1. size - large enough for casserole dishes 2. weight - light! I love metal trivets, but they are way too heavy to be practical 3. clean up is a breeze - since it's not fabric, it can be run under water or thrown in the dishwasher which is convenient 4. great deal on the 4-3 promo.
I was hoping this would also be a good "double" as a pot holder, but it's not that great because it's not as flexible as you might think so it can be cumbersome to get a good grip on your hot dish. It would do the job in a pinch, but that's definitely not its forte. So minus one star for that. But I bought this with the primary intention of using it as a trivet, which it is excellent. So overall, I'm very pleased with the product.

perfect for bathroom countertops too!Jul 14, 2010
By Kelly I needed something to place my flat iron and/or curling iron on to protect our new marble countertop from the heat. Perfect for the bathroom, perfect size for my FHI flat iron, and the colors are great. Not just for the kitchen!
