Sturdy and HandyMar 26, 2011

In the several weeks I've owned this basting brush, I've used it for brushing dough with butter, spreading a hot waffle iron with oil, and for applying mustard to a quiche crust. In every situation, it works well. I don't find a need for multiple sizes of brushes. This big one serves all my needs. The wooden handle feels comfortably substantial in the hand. It washes well with a swish in the dishwater. (I've not put mine in the dishwasher.)

Love it!Dec 24, 2009
By LMV2324 I love these brushes. I have a pastry one as well. They come in handy for lots of uses and are easy to clean - just toss them in the dishwasher!
482°F silicone paired with stay cool bamboo handleApr 11, 2012

This Le Creuset basting brush is heat resistant to 482° F. Its "bristles" are soft, pliable, and yet just like a real brush.
Pros:
* Practical basting brush very utilitarian for many kitchen tasks * Will not scratch your stainless steel cookware, hard anodized cookware or nonstick cookware * Heat resistant up to 482 degrees Fahrenheit * Stay cool bamboo handle * Silicone utensils are recommended by some manufacturers of stainless cookware, like All-Clad and Cuisinart, to keep from scratching stainless steel cookware. They also work great with nonstick cookware and hard anodized cookware. Check with your cookware manufacturer to see what type of utensils they recommend.
Do not soak Le Creuset silicone/bamboo utensils for a long period of time in water to clean them -- at least, do not leave them soaking overnight, as it is not good for bamboo to be left soaking for long periods of time; the bamboo will swell up. A short soak for a few minutes would be fine. Rinse them under warm soapy water, then dry off or let dry in a dish rack.
I first became interested in the Le Creuset silicone utensils after I purchased the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless Steel 12-piece Cookware Set. I have been thrilled with these utensils as they absolutely will not scratch.
It is great to know that you don't have to worry about a little heat in the kitchen when you have Le Creuset silicone tools with stay cool bamboo handles!

Le Creuset Silicone Basting BrushDec 26, 2011
By E. Linsky Silicone basting brushes are wonderful. I'd have to have an extremely good reason for ever going back to the old straw brushes. Silicone is cleaner and easier to clean--you never have to worry about flavor transference. If you're a fan of LeCreuset, the Caribbean color is true to the product line and matches baking dishes and pots.
