4Wonderful CookwareOct 28, 2009
By Debbie S.
I looked at different brands of stainless cookware before purchasing my LeCreuset and here are some of the features the others don't have that sold me on the LeCreuset. The pans nest evenly inside one another. The design of the handle allows the lid to fit into the handle. These pans are heavy - the extra handle is a big bonus when you have a full heavy pan to lift or move. I love the stainless lids that come with this cookware. The steamer insert (purchased separately) fits THREE different sizes of pans, comes with it's own glass lid, too. All of the pots have measurements on the inside walls for easy measuring (especially when reducing liquid).

This cookware, heats and cooks everything very evenly. These pans are very easy to use and clean. I have experienced some bluish discoloration that I am not happy with, but I am assured that it is only cosmetic and does not adversely affect the cookware.

This is great cookware, designed to last a lifetime of good hard use in the kitchen. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for excellent quality clad stainless cookware.

The brushed stainless steel on the outside is very attractive. These pans heat very evenly because the 3-ply construction goes all the way up the sides of the pots, not just at the bottom. This cookware is NOT made in France, as you would expect, but is made in China. I don't see any difference in the quality, either visually or when I am cooking, so I guess Le Creuset exercises proper QC over the manufacturing process. However, having said that, I have only recently acquired my cookware. If the handles come loose or the set doesn't hold up well to ordinary wear and tear, I will write an update. I like the weight of the pans, not too heavy (like the Mauviel copper pans) and not too light (like the Calphalon tri-ply stainless). Overall, I am happy with the purchase. Shop around for the best price, because some places offer this same set for 40% less...

5Beautiful cookware!Apr 10, 2010

Le Creuset is taking a shot at the high-end stainless cookware market with an exceptional product.
I got a set of these from a major department store. The quality is excellent. The saucepans are heavy and similar to the All-Clad, with 3-ply layering that isn't just on the bottom, but all the way up the sides. The rims are designed for pouring without the contents dribbling down the side of the pan. The handle is comfortable, although the pan is heavy. The lids are snug fitting and the bottoms are nice and even - perfect for induction cooking or any smooth-top surface.
They are dishwasher safe, but I'm going to hand wash them, at least until the novelty wears off :-)
I have only used them a few times so I can't say how well they hold up, but the well respected company offers a lifetime warranty.
They're beautiful and a pleasure to cook with.
I would recommend keeping an eye out for sales. I got my set on close-out at 50% off. I think Le Creuset is having trouble breaking into the high-end cookware market so you might get these for a steal.

5Excellent first cookware set!May 25, 2011

After shopping around for quality cookware, the most glaring negative about most of the big shot brands was the uncomfortable handles. Thankfully, Le Creuset stepped in with their perfectly designed handles!

This set contains all the essential cookware one would need. I don't have enough storage space for a larger set, but if I had to narrow down a more expansive set to five pots and pans, this would be the exact selection. The non-stick pan is perhaps the best non-stick pan I've ever used out of 15 or so pans. It's on the small side, but it's great when cooking for two. The sauce pans are also a good size when cooking for two, and the lip on the pans is very well suited for no spill pouring.

All the pans heat evenly on the stove, and the sides of the pans don't deviate too much in temperature from the bottoms. I would put this cookware up against any of the top of the line brands. I'm a bit incredulous that this set is not more popular. This is a fantastic cookware set for casual and serious cooks alike!
