5Eager To Share A Bottle Of WineAug 29, 2000

I have been looking for an iceless wine cooler for a while because a friend of mine had one and I really thought it was a neat idea! When I saw the "Jubilee Acrylic Embossed Grape Iceless Wine Cooler", I just had to purchase it. Well, this was really a surprise when I opened it and saw the beautiful embossing of grape clusters and grape leaves. I placed it on the table with a chilled bottle of my favorite white zinfandel and the color of light red and the beautiful label peeked through the clear cooler. The wine stayed chilled for several hours even though it was a warm evening.

5The Chill of The Grape Without A Chilled WalletDec 13, 2000

Even though I personally like the sound of crunchy ice, soggy wine labels or drips across a table are no fun. With this beautiful acrylic "no ice" wine chiller from Jubilee--drips and such are solved. Richly textural embossed grapes trail up a unique double-walled inner chamber, keeping an already chilled bottle suitable for sipping about 2-3 hours (if the beverage of choice lasts that long).

Note: to further enhance cooling time for that 1st or second bottle and for a surprisingly decorative look, I enjoy half-filling the in-between area with lightly tinted crackling ice! (just stir in a few drops of liquid food color) A bottle of crisp Zinfandel floating amidst sparkling pink ice--makes for superb eye-to-lips candy.

Package this with four matching wine glasses, (which Amazon.com also carries) and you have a crystal looking, shatterproof set which would make a perfect hostess, house-warming, wedding, Valentines or anytime gift.

Gave this as a gift and the recipient loves it! She said it's durable and keeps the wine cold. Great price and looks more expensive than it was.

4Solid, looks quite good, works fairly wellSep 12, 2011

We received this about 10 days ago and, since then, we've used this with three bottles of wine, all pre-cooled using an electric wine cooler that is effective, but much too noisy to have at the table (hence we bought this plastic cooler, to silently maintain the wine's chilled temperature). The results:

(1) Sauvignon Blanc, pre-cooled to 45 degrees. It held temp reasonably well, but not perfectly - temp increased perceptibly over ~1 hour period in this plastic cooler. Next time, I'd think of adding a littleice at the bottom of the cooler.

(2) Merlot, pre-cooled to 63 degrees. It seemed to handle this quite well (although maybe it was harder for us to detect any increase in temp with this wine).

(3) Sparkling wine. To my surprise, the bottle didn't fit! To be fair, it was a cheapo (Korbel) and it didn't fit in our electric cooler either. So I guess we'll have to drink real champagne instead (Veuve Cliquot fits the electric cooler just fine, and I think it'll fit the plastic one too)

Bottom line: as the title indicates, it does work, keeping wine fairly cool over a relatively short time (e.g., an hour). Certainly better than leaving the bottle on the table. Just don't expect it to hold the chill perfectly and/or for a long time.
