Very nice knives for the price. Weighted well, attractive and comfortable to hold. I'm satisfied with the sharpness and quality. I did notice that they tend to spot if left to air-dry, so I hand wash & dry them right away.

I bought these knives as a starter kit and they really do a great job! I use each piece extensively and for someone who is just starting out, do not see an immediate need for additional knives. They are easy to handle, great value for the money (especially since they are J.A. Henckels!) and cut anything and everything well. There is no need to shop around some more if you are looking for a good set of basic knives-- buy these.

 Nowhere near as good as genuine Wusthof or Henckels...May 10, 2001
I recently got this set and the 2 piece carving set of the same series. I know I should not have expected much for this great price, but the knives do not have anywhere as good a feel as the classic line of wusthof or the henckels 4 or 5 star knives. They are very light in weight, mostly due to the handles. Much better than a target or kmart knife, and great to start, but I expect to switch mine out with 'real' knives as my budget will allow.

If Only....Nov 13, 2001
First off I don't quite hate these knives... I do however dislike them quite alot.
My wife brought these into our combined kitchen (she loves them)so I use them once in a while but on soft items like raw chicken they just pull and make a mess.
I have some Nice henkles that I brought that live in the closet in the other room, when ever I am doing anything in the kitchen I take the walk to get them, Sharper and Safer IMHO then the eversharps. Plus the eversharps do not fell right in my hand...

I used my Henckels knives for the first time yesterday, and I was so very impressed. They immediately imparted a sense of the craftsmanship and pride behind their manufacture. No flimsy feeling, no bending blade, no wavy cut--the design and weight of these knives is so perfect, I felt I was behind the wheel of a quality sportscar. These knives are well-balanced, easily guided, razor-sharp, and they really seem to take the labor out of food preparation! I'm going to send a set to somebody I love.
