5Made in JAPAN... not China as Amazon review states. A REAL PLUS!Mar 30, 2010
Made in JAPAN... not China as Amazon review states. A REAL PLUS! Very pleased with quality and price.

4Good CutleryFeb 26, 2010
Good knives; a dream to work with. Very sharp and clean-cutting. Only thing that surprised me was that they have plastic handles. I suppose those are more durable, really, but I was expecting heavy wooden ones. Otherwise, a great product.

1Absolute Crap, Even at This PriceDec 22, 2009
I bought these with the intention of gifting them. I wasn't looking for high end cutlery, just a cheap but well made set of knives. I would be embarrassed to present these to someone. You could pick up knives of comparable quality at the dollar store.

These knives are shoddy, and shouldn't be sold for more than $[...]. The handles are made of cheap plastic, are uncomfortable, and poorly balanced. The blades are too thin, too flexible, and they are all serrated (fine if you want to tear rather than cut your food I guess).

For the price you can do a lot better. I immediately returned this item when I saw the poor quality. Henckel should be ashamed to put their name on this garbage.

I picked up a set of Cooks brand cutlery from J.C. Penny for about the same price with full tang riveted handles, fairly balanced, and smooth bladed.

3A decent "starter" set of knivesDec 15, 2009
Although not top quality per other reviewers, these Henckels knives are a decent starter set for amateur cooks for the price.

5Great product!Nov 01, 2009
I bought this for my parents as a Christmas gift last year. These knifes are sturdy, cut extremely easily, and are relatively low maintenance. They're very happy with this!
