Poorly designed, breaks, pours sloppilyApr 10, 2008
By Felix Binder There is, effectively, no spout from which to pour; consequently, I am always making a mess, especially with thick liquid. The bottom blade assembly is poorly designed and has locked up on me twice from crushing ice and blending thick soup. Cuisinart sent me a replacement once, and then, reluctantly, a second time, warning me that this was the last time. Now another cheap plastic piece has broken and they won't replace it. Total piece of junk.

Excellent blenderDec 08, 2007

Over the course of a few months I had gone through 3 blenders. I was looking for a blender that was heavy duty and durable and found it in this cuisinart. I make protein drinks almost daily and use frozen fruit, ice,ect..this blender handles it with ease and I am totally satisfied. If you need a blender that you can depend on than I recommend the cuisinart CBT-500FR, you can't go wrong and the price is worth every dime spent. The only drawback and it is minor compared to what you are getting over-all is the pouring spout on the pitcher is a little ackward to pour and this means for heavier smoothies or drinks you have to be careful to avoid spillage over the sides. The dependability and power for shakes, protein drinks and smoothies is well worth this one drawback in my opinion.

Super blenderJul 04, 2007
By S. Andrew Campbell I bought this blender for my wife who is dieting and uses a lot of fruit smoothies and other shakes in her diet. This blender has no trouble crushing ice cubes. She is very pleased.

Could tell it had been "used"Jul 09, 2007
By Vito Perez I not call this "Brushed Stainless" as the only thing stainless on this is front faceplate. The rest is a silver plastic. A bit misleading. Don't get me wrong, it looks great. All my appliances are stainless and it fits right in but I was hoping that it was brushed stainless all over.
Despite the asthetics, I would have given five stars had it come as cleaned up a bit. There was some food residue on the base unit itself. Other than that, after a good wipe down, I am impressed. Well worth the moeny. The extra large capacity allows users to fill this up pretty high and not worry about spill-over. The motor on this thing has plenty of torque.
