I love cuisinart and I was so happy to see that amazon carried their filters and at a reasonable price.
Improves taste of coffeeJul 04, 2010
Coffee beans have a natural oil that enhances the it's flavor. Much of this oil is normally absorbed into the paper of traditional disposable filters. The gold filter is made of a fine plastic mesh and allows the oils of the coffee bean to flow into the pot. It adds to the richness of the coffee's flavor. And in my opinion makes for a better tasting cup of coffee.
You could probably purchase hundreds of generic paper filters for the cost of this one but over time, (especially if you make several pots of coffee a day), the cost savings will be realized. It is said that these filters will last a life time. I'm not too sure. I assumed that it was a metal filter but since it is plastic and requires a washing after each use...... I rather doubt that. I have been using mine for several months and it is holding up quite well.
It's very easy to clean. You dump the moist coffee grinds and can either put it in the dish washer or hold it under running water to remove the remaining residue. I don't particularly like handling the wet coffee grinds,
(I've had several messy spills) but then that's the price you pay for using a permanent coffee filter.

I've been looking for a permanent coffee filter to replace the one that came with my coffeemaker, and this one fits, even though it has as oval shape. It is flexible enough to fit in the round filter compartment. Thanks!

The filter works but just OK, not great. It allows fine particles thru that a paper filter catches. Also, I did not realize that this filter came with the coffee pot I purchased, so now I have two that I will not use.

i bought this as a package with a coffe maker. this was not compatable so i wasted my money. it's not worth the postage to return it so it goes in the trash.
