3The little pot that stays hot.Feb 24, 2006
By A. Murray
This is a good-sized pan. It comes with a nice lid that seals if desired (using steam to form the seal).

It heats evenly, and stays very warm even after sitting away from the burner for a while.

The quality of the stainless steel is great and the pot is easy to clean in that it is stainless steel.

But, it does have its flaws. The negatives have to do with the rivets, especially on the lid, which are large to the point of absurdity, especially for a pan of this size. I was raised with riveted pots and pans, and the rivets were never an intrusion back then.

The lid's rivets make it more difficult to clean. The way they're attached on the outside is sloppy, and unnecessarily bulky. They stick up, and catch on sponges and cloths. This irritates me no end.

This is not a cruel and unusual complaint, but a statement of fact. I am surprised that a company like Cuisinart would be so careless in design. I own another item from a different line of theirs, the Everyday line, and it's the best pot I've ever owned, and that includes my Le Creuset ware.

If it were the only pot available in this size and quality of material, I would buy it again...just because it's hard to find a one and a half-quart saucepan with a lid, for some unknown reason. There are myriad one-quart pans available all over the place.

The price is fabulous! Really fabulous!

Postscript to this comment: I use this saucepan nearly daily. I actually have come to like it very much. If I could rate it again, it would get a four. If it weren't for the annoying rivets, it would be a five star item. The overall quality is unquestionably excellent.

5Outstanding product at an incredible priceMar 26, 2005
By Gordon M. Wagner
Like the Chef's Classic set I'd bought from Cuisinart through amazon.com, this is a BEAUTIFULLY made piece of cookware with a snug-fitting lid. The bottom is thicker than the walls. It's so beautiful out of the box you hate to use it! But when you get around to breaking it in, you'll find that the heat transfer is fast and EVEN. The snug-fitting lid is a genuine delight, after a lifetime of using crappy cookware I realize what I've been missing. If you love to cook, this saucepan will put a BIG smile on your face! Some of the best money I've ever spent.

5Great dealFeb 23, 2006
By M. Speth
I am an avid cook and decided it was finally time to throw out my old beat-up non-stick cook ware. I purchased 2 sauce pans, and 3 saute pans from this line. All of them cook fantastically. I had to set my range on pretty high heat to sear anything in my old cookware. With these pans medium heat is all you need to get a nice sear on steaks, chicken, burgers, fish, or whatever you may be cooking. Preheating time was pratically cut in half, You can put them in the oven without worry, and clean up isn't bad at all. For the price amazon is selling these pans at, you're crazy if you pass up this line of cookware. 5 stars without question.

3Amazon.com is amazing, but not this pan!May 27, 2011
By Stay@home Mom
I bought this pan because the all the good reviews. But for me, this pan only last less than a week. After a couple of time used, I noticed there were a couple of pitted dark spots, not just a usual discoloration. I used this pan only for boiling water and the last time I used was for boiling shrimp with salt and ginger. I always handwashed the pan and I followed the instruction for care carefully (only use low and med-high heat).

First, I wrote an e-mail to the Cuisinart customer service. Before I got the reply, I read the warranty. It says I could get the pan fixed by sending it to them and enclose $7 for the return shipping and handling. I thought those shipping fee only would be almost the same as purchasing a new one at Amazon.com! Before the Cuisinart customer service replied my e-mail, I wrote an e-mail to Amazon.com. I was skeptical at first because I read the return policy that they only accept new stuff.

But then, it only took less than 24 hours for Amazon customer service to reply my e-mail and take another day to send me a new pan for free! I do still need to return the defective pan to Amazon, but it's free!! Thanks Amazon.com! Amazon.com is trully amazing!! I just hope my new pan would last long - just like the other good reviews says. FYI, the Cuisinart customer service did reply my mail in 3 business days. It seems they are good enough, but not as good as the Amazon's!

4Extremely good value for moneySep 29, 2005
By T. Campbell
Well constructed, good lid fit and solid handles. The cover handle gets very hot in use but this is to be expected as it is metal. The saucepan handle is quite narrow and if wet, or greasy, could be annoying to handle when draining the pan (although I have not had this problem with any of the pans in this range). All in all, I think this is excellent value
