expensive, but fitsMay 30, 2005
By Brian H. Fiedler This lid is different from the Calphalon lid offered at Target, and more expensive too. This one has a bevelled edge, and will fit pans with an inside diameter from 9 1/2 inches to 10 1/2 inches. I bought it for the "Calphalon Commercial Nonstick 10-Inch International Griddle/Crepe Pan", which has a 9 3/4 inch inside diameter. This lid might work for you if your "antique" Calphalon lid is too big, as was the case for me.

I. Love. This. Lid.Mar 03, 2006

It's a bit strange to be going off on how great a LID is. But if there ever was an occasion, this is it. I had somehow collected 3 10" Calphalon skillets; none of them came with a lid. I registered for the 10" lid from Target, but they stopped carrying it, so I ended up buy this one online, despite the $25 price tag. It was worth every cent.
Great things about it: It's really heavy, so steam doesn't push it off. The beveled edge means it fits most pots around 10". The handle is metal, but doesn't get hot!
OK, so that's only three things. But really, what more is there to say about a LID... ? I really recommend this one.

PROBLEM!Apr 05, 2009
By DMITRIY I was absolutely ecstatic when I first got this lid. It fit my (non-Calphalon) pan perfectly. I like that it's heavy, gives you a great view of what's going on in the skillet, the handle stays cool, and it looks great!
BUT: Right away I ran into a WASHING problem. This is my first see-through lid, and I have no idea if they are all like this, but when I carefully hand-wash mine, water gets inside that tiny space between the glass disc and the metal border, and IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THAT WATER OUT!!! When I look at the lid closely, I can see the water moving there. Of course, that water is not "fresh from the springs of Main" or "from the French Alps glacier" -- it's mixed with cooking oils and microscopic food particles. It stays there for days!!! Sometimes when I leave the lid at a certain angle, few drops of that oily mess drip out, but no matter how I shake the lid I am never able to drain it completely.
Rater than being a "complainer" or a "returner", I am always trying to be a FIXER of little problems like this one. But in this case I have absolutely no idea how to fix it. I will keep the lid for now, hoping that the mix of food particles and oil will eventually seal that space and prevent the water from getting in there. I just hope I don't make myself sick when drops of that dirty mess from the lid get into my food ... :(
FOLLOW UP (one month later): I ended up drilling several small holes in that metal rim -- to allow dirty water to drain. So now even more oil, food particles, and dirty water from dish washing can get inside, but at least I can completely flush and drain all that stuff when I wash it. I am still using the lid, but knowing what I know now I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!! The problem I described is annoying as hell, and unless you are willing to drill these holes, the dirty water constantly collecting inside the metal rim and then randomly dripping out on your food and all over your kitchen WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY.

Great lid!Dec 15, 2007
By First time mommy from NYC What a great lid! It is heavy enough to prevent the steam from escaping the pan. I have two Calphalon 10" pans without lids. I bought one for my nonstick and it fits perfectly. Tried it out on my Tri-ply Stainless 10" pan and it also fits perfectly even though Amazon states the lid fits the nonstick collections only. I have to buy another.
