Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant, and cafe and are a definite conversation piece. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it. | | | Features: | |

thin and weakJul 20, 2010 these glasses are very thin i feel like im going to break them the instructions that came with the glasses even say use care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer buyer beware
Bodum Canteen Double-Wall Cooler/Beer GlassesJul 08, 2010 We own several other Bodum double walled products and have very happy with all of them. I surprised my husband with these and he's so thrilled to use them! HIs beer has never stayed colder! You can even put them in the dishwasher.
Bodum deterioratedJul 02, 2010 These Bodum double-wall glasses used to be great. (I have some that I bought a few years ago.) Both the inner and outer walls were solid glass. Now the outer wall has a little hole in the bottom that's covered by a thin piece of silicon about 1/4" in diameter. It's very easy to damage that little piece, and when you do the glass is useless -- water gets in between the inner and outer walls and doesn't dry out. Bodum's explanation for the hole is some mumbo-jumbo about temperature variations. I never had any problem with the glasses in their original configuration. Talk about solving a nonexistent problem!
cool glasswareApr 24, 2010 lite weight, more durable than they look. I have dropped it on thick pile carpet, no problem. the lite weight is deceptive. love the little vent in the bottom. have been through the dishwasher, no problem. real glass sound when you thump it. But, even though it is glass, they feel like a space age plastic
Sturdiest of Bodum's Great Double-Walled GlasswareApr 07, 2010 Like almost all of Bodum's double-walled glasses, these will keep your drinks hot or cold, never require a coaster, and look amazing full or empty.
Unlike almost all of Bodum's double-walled glasses these are very likely to arrive intact as well as survive regular use and dishwasher cleaning. This is because the rim and the base are both much thicker than they are on some of their other products; the walls of the glass also seem a little bit thicker. I would still highly advice against dropping ice into empty glasses but rather placing at least some of the liquid in first. It is also best not to wash them while overly crowded together in the dishwasher. If you follow those basic rules of common sense that applies to any delicate glassware, these will serve you well and for a long time.
I highly recommend adding a set of two or four to your collection of glasses; your friends and family will love them.
