The Speaker RocksNov 27, 2007
By Nick Catalano

I rate the speaker a 5 because it's better than most wireless out there. I bought this speaker with no reviews but the other audio unlimited 2 speaker with remote rated high with same transmitter and components except it looks like a rock which is kinda cool. I wanted one speaker not two. 1. this speaker has great bass and sound sounds like a big boombox 2. it does transmit to 150 feet 3. I plugged this in on a shelf in a closet where a stereo is located in a furnace room. The signal had to go threw the furnace threw the wall down a hall threw another wall and another 100 feet where I sat it on a table and it worked. This was done in a rental hall and then and only then did it have an occasional quick static but still was good. All through my house threw 3 floors whatever its flawless. I sat it in my basement and i could feel the bass thumping from upstairs. 4. I've done research a lot of these speakers rate low and they don't last and they aren't real strong this baby actually pumps out 100 watts look at their website for specs. I made the right choice it works as advertized.

Good sound, VERY inconvenient.May 22, 2009

I bought two of these speakers for the area around my pool, thinking "Oh Boy! No more carrying a boom box out!" They are driven by a radio that is on my deck...a perfect setup, I thought.
The sound is ok (for a wireless rock, I guess).
But, the user manual states in the specs that they are auto on/off, and in another place in the manual it states that they will turn off after four minutes of getting no signal in order to conserve power, but it also states that they will turn on again when they get a signal again. So both spots in the manual agree that they are AUTO ON/OFF.
They do turn off automatically, but they do NOT turn back on automatically. Even if they are plugged into AC power 24/7, which mine are.
So, every time I want to listen to music I must turn on the radio on the deck, and then go down to EACH rock speaker individually and turn it on, and then go back and forth between the various rocks until I think the balance is correct. (They don't retain your last volume setting, so I have to turn them on and then adjust the volumes again among the various rocks that I have).
If you only wanted to use these on special occasions and kept them in a closet charging the rest of the time, then turning them on manually is no big deal as you would have to visit each rock speaker as you carried it to its location anyway. But for someone who wants to leave them out most of the time (as I do), then they are not useful.

Best wireless speaker I have found thus farJun 02, 2008
By MW I have tried several wireless speakers, and these are the best I have experienced. The sound is great for wireless, but keep your expectations realistic. You will not have the same audio quality as you do with "regular" wired speakers. Also, if you buy two or four or whatever (I have two), realize that they are NOT stereo, but I still think they sound fine. They are heavy, seem to be well made, and have decent bass sounds (again, for wireless). I use them to enhance my stereo in the back patio (where I have wired stereo speakers also) or the sound system in my house, depending on what I have going on at the time.
The first set I bought I had to return because the transmitter stopped working after one day; but with the second set, so far so good. Keep in mind that purchasing from Buy.com only allows an exchange of the product, not a return, so if you buy from them you will keep them one way or the other. I only say that so you will weigh this in your overall purchasing decision. Amazon, for example, has in my experience been very accommodating in this area from a customer satisfaction perspective.
I like the fact that they come with rechargeable batteries built in, so you can move them most anywhere. I have also found their range to be excellent, even through the walls of my two story house (with a concrete second floor). Other wireless speakers I have tried did not sound as good, although they were in stereo, and did not last very long. Hopefully these will; I have owned them about a month as of this review. If things change I will update the review.

Great product, but a little priceyJul 25, 2008

This is a great product! The sound can be controlled both from the rock itself and the base transmitter (in my case a standard radio). I've used it with the rock about 30ft from the base and the sound is crystal clear. The fully charged battery lasts about 10 hours before it needed the power to be plugged back in. Overall, it's a great product, but it was one of the more expensive ones I've seen.

Wireless Rock speakersJun 18, 2008
By Dave I purchased these speakers for my patio and really not expecting too much from them. These speakers sound really good and would definately reccomend them to anyone. I really dont have them very far from the receiver so I'm not really sure how far the signal will go.
