5Ideal with the 6 qt stock pot or saute potFeb 05, 2009
By C. G. King
This thing is super. It turns the 6 qt stockpot or tall sauté pot into a deep fryer, or extracts the carcass and/or veggies out of stock liquid without having to strain off the liquid into another container.

I love to make turkey or chicken soup with the carcass after most of the meat has been eaten, but there's usually some meat sticking to the bones that needs to be hand pulled after boiling. By using this basket with my tall 6 qt sauté pan, I can just lift it up with all the bones and vegetables inside and hang it on the edge of the pan via the basket's hook to let everything drain and cool. When the ingredients are cool enough to handle I can remove the remaining meat from the bones and throw out the rest. If I'm making a soup, I can add that meat right back to the stock along with some rice or noodles and chopped parsley and it's wonderful. Of course, I may want to do other things with the stock, but the fact remains that with this basket, getting the solids out of the liquid is a piece of cake.

If you're into deep-frying, of course, the basket is perfect for that, but I use it far more often for making stock or blanching something. This basket is worth its weight in gold. Highly recommended.

5Superb qualityJan 15, 2012
By Jack Of Alltrades "Just another soul"
If quality tools are important to you, this is the fry basket for you. In case you may want to know what size it really is, it's:

Diameter: 9.75" Dimensions: 19" x 9.75" wide x 4" tall.

No, you don't have to use it in an allclad pan. I'm using it in a dutch oven and it fits perfectly. It also has that hook on the handle side so you can hang it over the oil to drain. And it's STURDY.

This is 60 bucks at All Clad sites and this is a heck of a deal.

Now to enjoy some Fronch Fries.

5Better alternative to electric fryerMar 06, 2012
By K. Chen
Purchased the All-Clad after learning about another fry basket and researching fry baskets. I chose the All-Clad because it's stainless steel (vs chrome plated) and, as in all All-Clad products, it has a life-time warranty. It has a large capacity and the handle is NOT riveted to the basket, but it does seem to be securely attached. I like that the base has "feet" that elevate your contents maybe 1/4" above the bottom of the pan to keep the contents out of any residue left from multiple batches of frying. You DO need to buy a deep pan to use it in. I tried it in my Tramontina dutch oven and it's not a good fit. I broke down and got the All-Clad 6 quart deep saute pan (before the prices jumped astronomically) and it's a perfect fit. The fry basket has a hook on the bottom that allows you to hang the basket on the edge of the pan to drain - very nice. As the weather gets warmer, I plan to use it outside on the grill burner for frying to keep the grease out of the kitchen. For now, we're using it to contain the chicken and vegetables when we make stock. It's so much easier than straining it out.

5Quality for a Lifetime!Jun 14, 2009
By Divot-Diva "Jan"
I have All Clad cookware and purchased this fry basket to go with my 6 qt. dutch oven. It is roomy enough to hold more than a few pieces of chicken or fish, without crowding, and when finished frying, you can hook it on the lip of the kettle to drain. It's, also, great to use when cooking whole potatoes, corn on the cob, some pasta's and other veggies, etc., as you, simply, lift up the basket, hook to drain it with no mess or risk of burning oneself with steam. It's a quality product that will last a lifetime.

5Great design, againJan 09, 2007

This All-Clad basket fits perfectly inside the sauce pan--making storage easy. And, it can be clipped on to the side to let items in the basket drain. great for anything from potatoes in water or oil to large pasta ...
